About

Brett Burgeson is a Class A member of the PGA of Canada with 24 years experience as a Head Golf Professional at Country Hills GC, Windermere GCC, and Carstairs GC in Alberta. Brett grew up North of Edmonton in Westlock, Alberta and learned the game at a young age with his family and childhood friends. The competition with his buddies and brother Brad sparked a great playing career for Brett with more than 40 Professional tournament wins under his belt including the 2003 Canadian Club Professionals Championship. Brett has also won the PGA of Alberta Championship in 2000, 2011 and 2013 and the PGA of Alberta Club Professionals Championship three times as well in 2003, 2004 and 2011. Brett has represented Alberta in events more than 10 times and played in the 2004 Canadian PGA Championship (part of the tour known now as the web.com Tour).

In the Business of golf Brett has been a key player in the Alberta Zone, first as a Board Member for 6 years, then as the Associations’ President and Past-President. These times saw many Board accomplishments and Brett credits many of his fellow Board Members as being Mentors of his through good and challenging times. Brett was a nominee and finalist for the Alberta Club Professional of the Year many times and managed to be named the winner of this prestigious award in 2011.

Brett is also a keen retail sales leader, setting record sales numbers at Country Hills and Windermere but also being part of the Golf Garage Sale creation in Edmonton and starting the Black Friday Golf Sale in Calgary. He has always been seeking ways to create off-season sales and thus preparing his retail shop for new inventory each spring.

Brett has had many adventures in his life and he is well traveled with golf, leading 9 different golf adventure trips to places such as Borneo, Bali, Vietnam, South Africa, and Australia. His love of golf and travel has developed lasting friendships with his members and great memories of group travel and golf. There have also been charitable ventures on these trips where Brett’s group has helped schools and orphanages in needy areas of the world with thousands of dollars in donations.

When not on the golf course you might see Brett at the rink or baseball diamond coaching or cheering for his kids, or maybe at a rock concert or blues club off the beaten track.
